The Healing Clinic

The Crystal Healing Clinic in Derry/Londonderry was founded by Liam Cunningham in 2006 with the first group of second year VHF students. The aim was to promote crystal and energy healing to a very high standard and to provide this for anyone in the community who wished to avail themselves of it. Since then the clinic has gone from strength to strength and is very well attended.

It is now run independently by VHF graduates who have all completed two years of training, are fully qualified and adhere to a strict code of conduct. They have recently, in addition, started to provide an outreach service to any interested community organization or other groups, which has been very well received. The clinic was recognised by the Millennium Fund for healing work in the community in N. Ireland in 2008.

The clinic evenings are usually from 7pm to 9pm and although the healers work on a voluntary basis a donation of £5 is suggested to help cover administration and venue costs.

Clinic Procedures:
All clients are asked to complete a disclaimer form before receiving a treatment and for those younger than 18 years old a parent or guardian will need to sign a special form of consent. Clients are also asked to make their healer aware of any medical conditions that they may have or any medication that they may be taking. Sessions last approximately 20 minutes during which clients either lay or sit down, whichever is most comfortable for them.

What is involved in a crystal healing session?
Crystal healing involves the use of crystals in order to help promote balance in a person’s bio magnetic field, which is generally known as the aura. Crystals are helpful in this process because of their specific energy, mineral content, colour and inner structure. They help to shape and focus the natural energies that the healer will direct to areas that are out of balance. During a treatment the healer will assess your auric field and select which crystals are appropriate for you at the time and then place the crystals on or around your body to help to restore balance and harmony.

During a treatment you might be aware of subtle sensations within your body e.g. tingling feeling in hands or feet, feeling cold or hot or seeing colours. You may just have a sense of feeling deeply relaxed. Sometimes people feel nothing at all but this does not affect the benefit of the treatment. You may notice some change a few days later as the treatment will continue to work after your initial session.
